Buy sleeping bag: For which season are you looking for a sleeping bag?
The comfort temperature of a sleeping bag always indicates the season for which it is intended. This temperature gives an indication of the lowest temperature at which you can sleep comfortably in the bag. For example, if you need a sleeping bag for summer, then you are looking for a model with a comfort temperature of at least 10°C and maximum 15°C. Below you will find an overview of the comfort temperatures with the corresponding seasons.
- A seasonal model: 10 - 15°C (summer)
- Two-season model: 0 - 10°C (summer/lente)>
- Three-season model: -10 - 0°C (spring/summer/ autumn)
- Four-season model: lower than -10°C (spring/summer/ autumn/winter)
The mummy sleeping bag and blanket model
There are roughly two types of sleeping bags that you can order on Frank, namely the mummy sleeping bag and the blanket model. The blanket model is the sleeping bag that everyone is familiar with. It has a standard rectangular model that can be unzipped, so it can also be used as a blanket. However, the mummy sleeping bag has a different shape, because it is preformed towards the body. In this way, cold rooms in the sleeping bag will be prevented, which can cause the feeling temperature to drop. The mummy model is often used in outdoor activities where the chance of cold air and low temperatures is greater.
How do I choose the right size sleeping bag?
You can easily calculate the right size of a mummy sleeping bag by adding 25 centimetres to your body length. This means that a user with a body length of 180 centimetres needs a mummy model with a total length of 205 centimetres. The size of the blanket model is calculated in the same way with an extra length of 20 centimetres. A person of 180 centimetres therefore needs a blanket model with a length of 200 centimetres. This calculation of the size indicates the length of a sleeping bag without hood.
